| October 24-26 The Lloydminster Sexual Assault Centre is commencing Volunteer Crisis Line Operator Training. For years the Sexual Assault Centre has hosted Lloydminster and Areas Crisis/Distress Line. Set up for people dealing with sexual assault, depression, relationship violence, or just need a supportive listener. We rely on our honored volunteers to help operate the crisis line. We are holding a 3 day workshop courtesy of the Sexual Assault Centre, designed to train volunteers to effectively support and refer people in distress. If you are an empathetic and responsible person we urge you to apply to become a volunteer crisis line operator. The occasional time dedication is minimal compared to the experience. Becoming a volunteer provides you with the opportunity for further education and the benefit of knowing you can make a difference in someone’s life just by being an effective and supportive listener. |
